After looking at Andy Cripe’s photos (including the two below) on the website site Sunday and reading the story by Brooks Hatch, I had to see for myself the new windows on the west and east ends of Gill Coliseum.

Taking a break from work, I stopped by Gill Wednesday afternoon, walked upstairs, sat down somewhere in Section 13 and really liked what I saw — sunlight coming in through through boths ends of the coliseum. I always thought Gill had kind of a dark look to it, but not anymore during the daytime.

While I feasted my eyes on this fresh new look, the only other person in the place at the time, OSU’s Seth Tarver, shot free throws. I asked him if the new light bothers him while shooting. It doesn’t, he said.

Five minutes of admiring the new light and the excellent exterior paint job at Gill was all I needed. Thanks to everyone who had the vision for bringing new life to the old arena.
